NEW MONTH

September is the ninth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars with a length of 30 days; it marks the beginning of the ecclesiastical year in the Eastern Orthodox Church. In most countries like Nigeria, September marks the beginning of a new academic year and in respect of atmospheric changes, September marks the beginning of many changes. Notably, September had 29 days originally until the Julian reform added one more day to it. in Charlemagne's calendar, September was called THE HARVEST MONTH... Symbolically, the morning glory and forget-me-not flowers are attributed to the month September...

Let us see what Scripture has to say about the ninth month September:
[Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter and for the great rain.]
Ezra 10:9

[And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.]
Jeremiah 36:9

From Ezra 10:9, Scripture tell of how the people fasted because of the captivity of their brethren on the ninth month and in Jeremiah 36:9, a fast is proclaimed in the land. what do these tell us of the month of September? They tell of the mysteries of the month: it is the month of many beginnings ranging from the atmospheric changes to academic year etc.; the month of Harvest and so on... God is the beginning and the end of all things and September being a month of many beginnings tells of the truth that as Children of God covenanted in the Blood of Jesus Christ, men who understand the times, we ought to enter the September to other ember months in fear and trembling before God and in a solemn fast and prayers if we must land safely: Commit your way to the LORD. The beginning is too significant to begin in a canal way.

Beloved, this month is a beginning of many aspects of life. Begin it in the Lord.

I pray God to Sanctify for the Church this Month of Harvest in Jesus' name. Amen. Happy month of Harvest to you all.
