SPECIAL INVITATION

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

This notice is to invite all youths of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Calabar Synod to an online free Quiz designed by a team of concerned PYPAN members determined to advance the course of PYPAN meeting the trend of global age. The Quiz holds in Rounds as follows:

1.      First Round/ Individual Basis:

First Round of the Quiz holds on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm featuring All Presbyterian youths in Congregations/ Parishes; in this Round, all Presbyterian youths within Calabar Synod shall partake based on the different questions per individual that would be served them online. First five participants with highest score per Congregation/ Parish shall be selected to represent their Parish at the next Round.

2.      Second Round/ Parish Basis:

After the Conclusion of First Round, the names of first five (5) selected participants at the first round per Parish would be published/ announced online and these five participants per Parish PYPAN would be qualified to partake in this Second Round of the Quiz based on different questions per Parish in each Presbytery that would be served which would hold on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm featuring only the five participants per Parish; in this Round, the five participants per Parish shall partake as a team/ Parish within each Presbytery. First three Parishes with highest score per Presbytery would be selected to represent their respective Presbytery at the next Round. In each team/ Parish, the five names must be maintained per the three Parishes.

3.      Third Round/ Presbytery Basis:

After the conclusion of the Second Round, the Third Round would commence on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm; in this Third Round, the first three winning Parishes (five participants per Parish) would partake online representing their Presbytery as slated. Three Presbyteries with highest score would be selected to face the next Round.

4.      Fourth Round/ Synod Basis:

Here, after conclusion of third Round, the Fourth Round would commence on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm; the first three selected Presbyteries (with the five participants per Parish in each Presbytery) would partake via different questions per Presbytery after which one Presbytery with least score would be dropped from the race leaving two Presbyteries for the next Round.

  

5.      Fifth Round/ Synod Basis:

The two Presbyteries left would partake on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. At the end of this Round, the Presbytery with highest score would be selected for the next level! Remember, each Presbytery is represented by three Parishes in it with five participants per the Parishes.

6.      Sixth Round/ Synod Basis:

This Round shall commence on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. The selected Presbytery from Fifth Round shall have all its three represented Parishes to partake after which the Parish with least score would be dropped from the race leaving two Parishes in the Presbytery for the next Round.

7.       Seventh Round/ Synod Basis:

This Round shall commence on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. The two Parishes in the Winning Presbytery would partake; the Parish with least score would be dropped from the race leaving one Parish in the winning Presbytery for the next Round.

8.      Eight Round/ Synod Basis:

This Round shall commence on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. The five participants in the winning Parish of the winning Presbytery would partake; two participants with least score would be dropped from the race leaving three participants for the next Round.

9.      Ninth Round/ Synod Basis:

This Round shall commence on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. One participant with least score would be dropped from the race leaving two participants for the last Round!

10.  Tenth/ Final Round:

This Round shall commence on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 6:00pm to 6:20pm. A participant with least score would be dropped from the race as the Runner-up leaving the participant with highest score as Winner!

QUIZ RULES:

1.      Registration is FREE and open to all Presbyterian youths within Calabar Synod!

2.      Areas of Concentration all through the various Rounds includes:

i.                    The 1989 Practice and Procedure Part-G of the PCN

ii.                  The 1989 PYPAN Constitution

iii.                The Book of Judges and the Book of Romans

iv.                History of the PCN and the PYPAN

v.                  General Knowledge of Presbyterian
vi.        The Revised Church Hymnary

3. Registration commences from Saturday, September 17 to Monday, October 31, 2016 via http://presbylive.blogspot.com.ng

4.      All intending participants must own a gmail account with which to participate with (names in the gmail must be the correct names of the participants)

5.      Steps to register:

i.                    log unto this blog http://presbylive.blogspot.com.ng

ii.                  Click on “Quiz”

iii.                Click on “Comment”

iv.     On the comment box displayed, enter your Full Name, Congregation, Parish, Presbytery, Phone Number and gmail used all in that order

v.                  Click on the Drop-down icon tagged “Comment as:” and select “Google Account”

vi.        Click “Preview” and wait for any loading and then enter the details of your gmail account as required, log in and wait for any loading

vii.              With your full registered name displayed on the Comment as box, click on “Publish” and that is all. The comment would be carried as your registration.

viii.            For any participant wishing to register using a device that was initially used to register, do the following:

a.       Still on the blog, click on “Quiz”

b.      Below the Comment box, click Sign out (to sign out the other participant);

c.       Click Add comment and then follow the instructions as given from (iv) to (vii) above.

6.At each Round of the Quiz, participants would be given different questions with similar weight of questions and for any tie in score, tests questions would be given to the parties involved until order of distinct score is obtained; results of each Round would be published within two days after the respective Round.

7.      For any complain/ questions, simply submit it as Comment on this post following the steps given in (4) above.

8.      Participants are at liberty to delete their Answers but note, once the Quiz Time terminates, deletion of Answers shall not be possible/ permissible! upon expiration of Quiz time, the Answers shall be carried by the blog Admin

9.      Participants are expected to be online at the stipulated Quiz time.

.  The Tenth Round Quiz Winner goes home with N 10,000 (ten thousand naira) only and the Runner-up goes home with N 5,000 (five thousand naira) only payable not later than 48 hours after conclusion of the Tenth Round directly to the individuals!

.  Notwithstanding, Team PresbyLive Updates and Documentaries shall appreciate Winning Presbytery, Parish and Congregation accordingly as a memorial.

PURPOSE OF THE QUIZ:

1.To train and raise Presbyterian youths fit into the Church and Society, rightly dividing the truth in wisdom of the Word and Church practice/ doctrine

2. Helping PYPAN to meet the fast growing global age/ technology through ICT.

3.Connecting all PYPAN members into one online forum with a view to interact and share ideas, advancing the course of PYPAN.
